Relief Distribution at Sivasagar, Assam

Pro Rural Organisation, in partnership with DonateKart and with generous support from Amazon, successfully carried out a relief distribution programme across flood-affected areas of Sivasagar, Assam, on 4th and 5th August 2026.

The intervention was aimed at providing immediate assistance to families whose lives and livelihoods were disrupted by the flooding. A total of 675 relief kits were distributed across the affected communities, comprising 300 shelter-cum-hygiene kits and 375 ration kits.

The shelter-cum-hygiene kits provided essential items to support families in maintaining basic safety, cleanliness and dignity during the difficult recovery period. The ration kits, meanwhile, helped address immediate food-security needs among households that had faced disruption to their regular sources of food and income.

The distribution was carried out with a focus on reaching families in the most affected areas and ensuring that essential relief reached those who needed it most. The timely support provided much-needed relief to vulnerable households during a challenging period and helped families begin the process of recovery with greater security and hope.

The successful intervention reflects the collective efforts of Pro Rural, DonateKart and Amazon in responding to the immediate needs of communities affected by disaster. The partnership enabled essential relief materials to reach affected families quickly and reinforced the importance of coordinated humanitarian action during emergencies.
