The World Environment Day was celebrated on 5th of June 2024 at Government High School, Nsong, Tening Block, Peren District in collaboration with Forest Department Nsong Beat and Pro Rural Organisation with the Theme: “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience”.
In this occasion the speaker Mr. Ichuzin, Forester II I/C Forest Beat, Nsong spoke to the students about our duty to protect the environment and also how massive the climate change is affecting the people. He encouraged the students to plant more trees as the big and massive trees are diminishing day by day. He also encouraged the students to manage their waste as well as their family waste wisely.
Also, During his short speech, Mr. Imnanukshi, Project Coordinator, Pro Rural encouraged the students to plant a tree in each of their birthdays instead of not only celebrating it with cakes.
The Program was followed by a tree plantation drive with the School Authorities, Forest Department, Pro Rural Staffs and the Students of the GHS Nsong which was done in the school premises as well as in and around Nsong Town.
