COMMUNITY ORGANIZER – Livelihood (agriculture value chain project)

Location : Kebai-Khelma division of Ahthibung block, Peren District, Nagaland

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Community Organizer to join our team for an Agriculture Value Chain Project based in Kebai-Khelma division of Ahthibung block, Peren District, Nagaland. The successful candidate will play a key role in mobilizing and empowering local communities to participate in and benefit from the project.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Mobilize and engage local communities, including farmers, producer groups, and other stakeholders, to participate in the project.
  2. Capacity Building: Provide training and capacity building support to community members, including farmers, on agriculture value chain development, business skills, and market access.
  3. Project Implementation: Support the implementation of project activities, including facilitating meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Foster relationships with local stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, and private sector partners.
  5. Monitoring and Reporting: Assist in monitoring project progress and reporting on community-level activities.

Education and Experience:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as agriculture, rural development, or social sciences.
  2. Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in community development, agriculture, or a related field.
  3. Skills:

    – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    – Ability to work in remote rural villages with limited infrastructure, is required.

    – Skilled at community mobilization and organising and facilitation.

    – Ability to travel frequently to remote villages is required

  • Language Proficiency:
  • Proficiency in English and fluent in Nagamese
  • Speaking one of the local dialects either Kuki or Zeliang will be an added advantage
